2RU Automatic Changeover Frame
Automatic Changeover
Designed for redundancy with two Evertz 5600MSC master clock/sync generators
2RU rackmount chassis, covers all outputs of a 5600MSC
Redundant dual power supplies standard
Uses latching relays for high reliability and minimal disruption
Three recessed front panel switches for security (AUTO/MANUAL, GPI/FRONT PANEL, A/B select)
Automatic mode monitors signals (level, pulse width, phase, time code, etc.) and switches to backup if anomalies detected
Manual mode allows changeover from front panel or GPI input
Front panel LEDs show input health and operational mode
Two GPO outputs: one indicates which master is active, the other shows if masters are synchronized or different
Selectable voting logic via VistaLINK to include or exclude inputs in auto-changeover decisions
Remote monitoring and configuration supported through VistaLINK (SNMP)
Supports multiple signals: HD-SDI, SD-SDI, analog black/sync, 10 MHz reference, word clock, AES/DARS, LTC/timecode
GPI/GPO connectors on 2x6 pin terminal block at rear
Y connector for GPI inputs so both 5600MSC units receive identical inputs
Clean changeover requires both 5600MSCs on same frequency and phase reference (GPS-locked) and Syncro mode enabled via DB15 link cables
Three recessed front panel switches (AUTO/MANUAL, GPI/FRONT PANEL, A/B select)
Front panel LEDs indicate input health and operational mode
Redundant dual power supplies standard
Latching relays for maximum reliability and minimal disruption
VistaLINK control with voting logic for auto-changeover, remote configuration and monitoring (SNMP)
GPIO inputs/outputs via 2x6 pin terminal block on rear (two GPI inputs, two GPO outputs per 5600MSC)
Coaxial inputs and outputs support HD-SDI, SD-SDI, analog sync (black burst), video test signals, 10 MHz reference, word clock, AES, DARS, LTC/timecode
Balanced outputs for DARS, AES, and analog audio via terminal strips (0.8 V to 9 V adjustable via 5600MSC LTC level menu)
LTC/IRIG standard SMPTE ST-12-1 frame rate, 2 inputs and 2 outputs, female DB15 connector for input, 3-pin male XLR for output
Changeover logic uses voting system, prioritizes source with most valid signals, switches only if backup also has valid signals
Electrical: Auto-ranging 100–240 VAC 50/60 Hz, 40 W, dual redundant supplies, fuse 250 V 1 A time-delay, ETL listed, EU safety directives, FCC Part 15 Class A, EU EMC directive
Physical dimensions: 19 in W x 3.5 in H x 11.5 in D (483 mm x 90 mm x 292 mm), weight approx. 16 lb (7.0 kg)
Synchronization requires both 5600MSC units locked to same frequency and phase reference (GPS or genlocked), Syncro mode via DB15 link cable ensures phasing alignment
Additional features: push-button shows cause of last changeover, hot-swappable power supplies, fans, and main board
Rear panel includes Ethernet RJ-45 for VistaLINK connectivity and RS-232 serial port for local control or firmware updates
