HD 3G Fiber Base Station

The LDK 4430 High-Speed 3G Fiber Base Station system combines a Triax module and a single mode (dark) fiber (SC or ST) module in a single base station. This makes the LDK 4430 the base station of choice for every outside broadcast van or studio environment. For production cameras that are equipped with Grass Valley’s 3G Triax, "traditional" triax cable can be plugged into the High-Speed 3G Fiber Base Station to cover up to 1,500 m (5,000 ft). For longer cable runs (5,000 m / 16,400 ft), single mode (dark) fiber cables can be plugged into the same 3G Twin Base Station, which in turn plugs into the LDK 4426 3G Camera Triax to Fiber Converter to output full Grass Valley 3G Triax to the camera. The LDK 4426 Converter can be placed close to the camera, or up to 1,500 m (5,000 ft) away. When Grass Valley 3G Fiber cameras are used, the single mode (dark) fiber cables plug into the High-Speed 3G Fiber Base Station and are connected to the LDK 4425 3G Fiber Power Converter. This delivers full SMPTE hybrid fiber to the camera, keeping full functionality including diagnostics.

With a compact design of only 2 RU and weighing 13.5 kg (29.8 lbs), the High-Speed 3G Fiber Base Station takes up minimal 19” rack space. When combined with its low power consumption and efficient internal cooling (that eliminates the need for space between adjacent units), the High-Speed 3G Fiber Base Station is ideal for implementation in outside broadcast (OB) vans.

The High-Speed 3G Fiber Base Station offers flexible and multiple audio and video
connectivity at the base station.
• Allows video transmission, power and control of cameras up to a distance of 4,000 m
(13,100 ft) using a 3G Fiber connection (2,500 m/8,200 ft in in full studio mode).
• Transmission of many 720p or 1080i multi-speed video formats:– 1080i50/59.94 (1x)– 1080i100/119.88 (2x)– 1080i150/179.82 (3x)– 720p50/59.94 (1x)– 720p100/119.88 (2x)– 720p150/179.82 (3x)– and many psf HD video formats.
• Transports the following digital signals from camera to base station: main video signal,
four audio channels (including embedded digital audio), two intercom channels, control
and private data.
• Transports the following digital signals from base station to camera: power, two external
HD video channels, teleprompter signal, three intercom channels, control and private data.
• Full camera control via Grass Valley’s C2IP Ethernet-based control network. Compatible
with Grass Valley’s Fusion for seamless integration with other Grass Valley broadcast
products.
• Two-wire or four-wire intercom compatible with international standards.
